Super Quiet SUPER 1103-2 Paid Utmost Respect to its Surroundings

The surfacing of pathways in a graveyard in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England was the first job contractor Brian Springett carried out with the new SUPER 1103-2. The existing pavement had disintegrated with age and needed overlaying. This was a job which demanded the utmost respect for the surroundings, so that the super quiet VÖGELE paver was the ideal candidate. Like all pavers of the “dash 2” family, the engine installed in the machine comes with an ECO Mode. Working in ECO Mode reduces noise levels and decreases fuel consumption. In this mode, the engine rated at 56kW delivers a power output of 48kW at 1,800 rpm – absolutely sufficient for the majority of paving jobs.

Perfect screed for winding paths

The SUPER 1103-2 achieves a laydown rate of 200 tonnes per hour, a performance tailored to a variety of smaller and medium-sized paving jobs. Combined with its AB 340 V Extending Screed, a perfect match, and given its excellent manoeuvrability, the SUPER 1103-2 was the ideal candidate for paving the winding pathways. The paver placed fresh material, 2cm thick, on the milled base. Part of the old pavement had been milled off by a WIRTGEN W 35 DC Cold Milling Machine.
