The wide range of VÖGELE products includes 12 modern machines, thus offering solutions to any paving job. The versatile pavers handle pave widths from 0.5m to 16m. Among the technical features typical of VÖGELE equipment are screeds heated electrically, user-friendly handling and excellent service-friendliness. Currently, VÖGELE are trendsetter once more in terms of ergonomic paver design and user-friendliness. ErgoPlus, the new concept for paver handling, is the first concept ever allowing intuitive operation of powerful construction machinery.
ErgoPlus - Unique in the Market
ErgoPlus, the new concept for paver handling, stands out through an operator’s stand of ergonomic design, modern consoles for both paver operator and screwmen, NIVELTRONIC® Plus, a new system for automated grade and slope control and finally a hardtop of glass fibre reinforced polymer material. On the operator’s stand, both seat and control desk can be adjusted exactly in keeping with the operator’s personal needs. The particularity: the seat and the control desk can be swivelled out to the sides beyond the width of the machine. This gives operators an unobstructed view of their pavers and the job site environment. As a striking highlight, ErgoPlus allows intuitive handling of pavers. Push-buttons on the operator’s console are clustered into logical groups according to job site requirements. Self-explanatory symbols never leave operators uncertain about the paver functions behind the buttons. Thanks to push-buttons easily identifiable by touch, the paver can be handled “blindfold”.
NIVELTRONIC® Plus – the Automated Grade and Slope Control System for Any Paving Job
Handling NIVELTRONIC® Plus, the new system for automated grade and slope control, is child’s play. Screed operators are guided through the menue intuitively and conveniently. All vital functions of NIVELTRONIC® Plus are directly accessible on the first menue level, thus allowing to achieve excellent paving results in a way as easy as possible. All the paving team needs to do is plug in the sensors for grade and slope control, these are recognized automatically by NIVELTRONIC® Plus. In addition to the radically simplified user interface of NIVELTRONIC® Plus, a number of other innovations have been realized as well to make work easier without any loss of functional diversity. Actual positions of the tow point rams, for instance, can not only be read off directly on the rams as usual, but also on the displays of both the paver operator’s console and the screwmen’s consoles.
4 New Mid-Range VÖGELE Pavers
Particularly interesting for small and medium-sized building contractors are the four brand-new pavers of the „dash 2” family, the wheeled pavers SUPER 1603-2 and SUPER 1803-2 and the tracked models SUPER 1600-2 and SUPER 1800-2. These pavers are capable of handling the vast majority of these contractors’ everyday paving jobs. The SUPER 1600 class is ideal for medium-scale farm tracks or roads, but pavers also do excellent jobs when it comes to car parks or municipal applications. The domain of the SUPER 1800 class is any kind of medium to large-scale application including highways, major municipal roads or major squares.
In all four machines, modern powerful PERKINS engines are installed. The low-noise engines already comply with the stringent requirements of exhaust standards COM 3a and EPA. When working in ECO mode, sufficient for many paving tasks, engine noise emission is very low and fuel consumption and wear are reduced considerably. For conveyors and augers proportional control is provided, thus ensuring an optimal head of mix in front of the screed for prime pavement quality. Depending on the type of machine, the new pavers yield laydown rates from 600 to 700 tonnes/h. On board the tracked and wheeled models is ErgoPlus, the concept for easy handling of SUPER pavers. The wheeled models feature maximum pave widths of 7m (SUPER 1603-2) or 8m (SUPER 1803-2), the tracked models handle a maximum of 8m (SUPER 1600-2) or 10m (SUPER 1800-2).
New AB 500-2 Screed, Optimized Heating
All four pavers can be combined with the new AB 500-2 Extending Screed. This screed, in particular, stands out through optimized electric heating reaching the screed’s operating temperature within a short period of time and providing for even heat distribution. VÖGELE offer a screed heating monitoring system for their AB 500-2 as an optional extra. The system constantly monitors the screed’s heating rods for proper function. This way, the paving team is kept currently informed about the heating system’s operating status.
