The decision on the company's new location has been made. After more than 15 months of preliminary work, the meeting of the supervisory board held at VÖGELE decided in favour of the Rhine-Neckar conurbation. The new plant will be built on a 37-ha site in Ludwigshafen-Rheingönheim.
The photo, taken in May 2008, shows the location that will become home to the largest and most modern paver factory ever.
On 31 January 2008, the deed of sale was officially signed at the office of the Notary Public in Ludwigshafen. The signing was attended by Dr Eva Lohse, Mayor of Ludwigshafen as well as Dr Christian Pawlik and Bernhard Düser, Members of the VÖGELE Board of Directors.
The City Council discussed VÖGELE's construction plans in a meeting on 16 June 2008. A press conference on the subject was held on 28 May 2008.
Dr Christian Pawlik (see photo) presented the plans for new construction of the factory in Rheingönheim and conveyed the company’s attitude on various topics. He, among others, considered in detail the objections brought forward on the occasion of a citizens’ forum and could dispel any doubts about the project whatsoever.
On 16 June 2008, the City Council finally gave green light for VÖGELE's move from Mannheim to Ludwigshafen.
An "Agreement for implementation of the construction plans" was signed by Dr Eva Lohse, Mayor of Ludwigshafen and Dr Christian Pawlik, Member of the VÖGELE Board of Directors, in the city hall.
