A VÖGELE SUPER 1900 with AB 500 Extending Screed in TP2 Version on the Scene in the Hunsrück Region, Germany.

A Roundabout on a Hilltop

Building Site:

German contractor Wust & Sohn of Simmern built a roundabout at the junction of the B48 and B41 Federal highways near Bad Kreuznach, Hunsrück.

Geometry:
Outer Radius up to 20m; Inner Radius 12m.
The site on the hilltop included inclines and slopes.

Construction:
Part of the specification was that the 8m wide road should be paved without joints. The VÖGELE paver came with 2 bolt-on extensions fitted. Although the SUPER 1900 operated under the most severe conditions due to the slope on the site, the pavement quality achieved by the machine was excellent and fully complied with the expectations. A precondition for achievement of the excellent quality was use of the full package of VÖGELE technology (steering by potentiometer, NIVELTRONIC Automated Grade and Slope Control, Screed Assist for added traction).

Mix:
Stone mastic asphalt (SMA 0/11S PmB) with polymer modified binder.

Paver:
VÖGELE SUPER 1900 with AB 500 Extending Screed in TP2 version fitted with 2 bolt-on extensions 75cm each. Pave width was 7.5m to 8m.
