Powerful all-rounders with intuitive operation

JOSEPH VÖGELE AG are introducing two new paver models with pave widths from 2.55 to 6.3m. The SUPER 1600 tracked paver and the SUPER 1603 wheeled version, members of VÖGELE’s new Classic Line, are designed specifically for quality-conscious users who value essential functions and ease of operation.

As the world’s leading specialist in road pavers and process solutions, VÖGELE offer the right technology for every paving scenario around the globe. To tailor its range even more closely to the specific needs of international customers, the German manufacturer, based in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, has now developed two additional paver models: the SUPER 1600 tracked and SUPER 1603 wheeled pavers. These two Universal Class pavers, with their robust equipment and intuitive operating concept, are uniquely suited to the demands of small and large construction projects run on a tight schedule.

“Many customers want a powerful machine that guarantees maximum paving quality but without all the added functions of our 'Dash 3' machines,” explains Bastian Fleischer, Product Manager at JOSEPH VÖGELE AG. “In response, we shifted our focus in developing these new Universal Class pavers to reduced operating complexity, reliable equipment and a good price/performance ratio.” Both pavers are equipped with the clearly structured, intuitive ErgoBasic operating system and the Niveltronic Basic System for Automated Grade and Slope Control. With their compact design, powerful 116kW diesel engines and laydown rates of up to 600t/h, the two pavers are also extremely efficient, robust and versatile, whether they are working on confined urban job sites or constructing rural roads or motorways. In combination with the AB 480 Extending Screed and the tamper and vibrator (TV) compacting systems, these machines achieve pave widths from 2.55 to 4.8m. With additional bolt-on extensions, they can even expand to a maximum pave width of 6.3m.

Pavers in the new VÖGELE Classic Line

These two pavers are members of VÖGELE’s new Classic Line: it offers customers maximum quality and reliability combined with reduced operating complexity. Specifically, this means that Classic Line machines are controlled via the ErgoBasic operating system, which offers users the key functions they need to achieve high-quality paving. These include, for instance, clearly structured function and status indicators, the control of different operating modes, glare-free backlighting for night-time jobs and simple steering via a rotary controller or, in the case of the wheeled paver, a steering wheel. “In addition to the Classic Line, we also have our Premium Line.

Comprising machines equipped with the ErgoPlus 3 operating system, it offers customers additional features, such as displays, automatic functions and enhanced convenience,” says Roland Schug, Head of Marketing at JOSEPH VÖGELE AG. “With this move, we have restructured our product classifications to more closely reflect the specific application scenarios and needs of our customers.” Because ErgoBasic and ErgoPlus 3 are both based on the same concept of maximum user-friendliness and feature identical icons, machine operators can switch smoothly between Classic Line and Premium Line pavers – and construction companies can easily incorporate both lines in their fleets.
